Huelskamp Draws Endorsement of Gov. Mitt Romney

DODGE CITY – First District Republican nominee Tim Huelskamp announced today that he had received the endorsement of former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 Presidential candidate Governor Mitt Romney. Governor Romney’s PAC, Free Strong America PAC, also announced their support of Huelskamp today. Governor Romney’s endorsement is the most recent in a long list of national conservative leaders who have thrown their support behind Huelskamp in his race for Congress.

Governor Romney said of Huelskamp that “In tough economic times, we need leaders like Tim Huelskamp that understand that cannot tax our way to prosperity or spend our way out of debt. Tim Huelskamp will be a strong advocate for free enterprise in Congress, and I wholeheartedly support his candidacy.”

Huelskamp thanked Governor Romney for the endorsement, stating: “I’m pleased to have the support of Governor Mitt Romney, a man who knows that jobs are created by entrepreneurs in the private sector -- not by massive spending bills in Washington.”

Tim Huelskamp is a family farmer and a current Kansas State Senator from Fowler. On August 8th, a poll commissioned by KWCH showed Huelskamp leading his Democrat opponent 65% to 23%. The general election is November 2nd.
