Huelskamp Blasts Obama’s Healthcare Summit
DODGE CITY – Senator Tim Huelskamp, Republican candidate for Congress in the First District, released the following comments today on the much-anticipated healthcare summit in Washington, D.C.:
“If President Obama and the Democratic Congress were serious about bipartisanship, they wouldn’t introduce their ‘new’ healthcare bill and threaten to use the nuclear option to bypass senate rules just days before their summit with Republicans,” Huelskamp said. “There are conservative ideas to reform healthcare in this country, such as enacting tort reform and breaking down laws that prohibit healthcare portability, but Congressional Democrats are unwilling to listen to the American people. This healthcare summit presented a real chance for bipartisan legislating, yet the President has turned it into a PR stunt.”
