Huelskamp Denounces Vote on Obamacare; Pledges to Fight for Repeal
DODGE CITY – Tim Huelskamp, Republican candidate for Congress in the First District, released the following statement on yesterday’s healthcare vote:

“The House vote on healthcare ‘reform’ puts our nation in peril. Out-of-touch liberals like Nancy Pelosi have chosen to raise our healthcare premiums, dictate what coverage we should and should not have, and force us taxpayers to subsidize abortions,” Huelskamp said. “This backroom deal, bought with blatant bribes for certain members of Congress, will destroy jobs and increase taxes. If elected, I will work tirelessly to make sure this legislation is repealed.”

Senator Huelskamp was the first candidate in the race for First District Congress to sign the Club for Growth’s RepealIt! pledge, which is a pledge to sponsor or support legislation repealing a government takeover of healthcare and replace it with free-market reforms that lower costs without increasing the size in government. Huelskamp has been endorsed by The Club for Growth.

Tim Huelskamp has also been one of the key senate leaders backing the Healthcare Freedom Amendment, a proposed constitutional amendment in Kansas to protect Kansas’ liberty to purchase whatever healthcare they wish without undue interference from career bureaucrats in Topeka or Washington.
