Huelskamp Unveils New Website and Online Petition to Defund Planned Parenthood
DODGE CITY – This morning, Tim Huelskamp, Republican candidate for Congress in the First District, unveiled a new website and online petition to assist his effort to defund Planned Parenthood of taxpayer dollars during this legislative session. The website, www.defundplannedparenthoodks.com, went live on Friday morning. Huelskamp is set to announce the online petition during his speech at the March for Life Rally, held on the steps of the Kansas Supreme Court later this morning. The announcement coincides with the 37th anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade.
Huelskamp said: “The majority of Kansans are pro-life, and the majority of Kansans don’t approve of taxpayer dollars being funneled to groups who perform abortions. That is why I’m launching this online petition so that the citizens of Kansas can have the voice in this process that they deserve.”
The petition signatures will be gathered and delivered to Governor Parkinson’s desk should Huelskamp’s measure be adopted by the legislature. Last year, Governor Parkinson vetoed Senator Huelskamp’s proposal, even though it won the support of a majority of both legislative houses.
